Its proportionally larger head, realistic weight, and naturally moving arms and legs replicate the physical responses of an infant, creating a realistic training environment for infant CPR.

Ventilation
Proper ventilation in infants requires correct airway positioning (neutral position) and appropriate ventilation volume.
The BRAYDEN (IM17020) provides real-time feedback to help learners perform high-quality ventilation.
- Ventilation Volume
- For an infant of a size comparable to the BRAYDEN (IM17020), the appropriate ventilation volume is 30–50 mL.
The manikin’s ventilation indicator provides visual feedback on the actual volume of air delivered and whether it is delivered with excessive force.

When the lung-shaped ventilation indicator illuminates, learners can confirm that the correct ventilation volume has been delivered.

Proper Head and Airway Position
The BRAYDEN (IM17020) infant manikin is designed to allow learners to practice jaw thrust and chin lift techniques.
For effective ventilation in infants, it is essential to maintain the head in a neutral position to keep the airway open.
Excessive head tilt (overextension) or flexion (chin-down position) is inappropriate during infant ventilation.
The BRAYDEN (IM17020) features a relatively large occiput, causing the head to rest naturally in a flexed position, similar to that of a real infant. As a result, learners must adjust the head to the correct neutral position to open the airway.

Jaw Thrust
The jaw mechanism is designed to replicate the natural movement of an infant’s jaw, enabling accurate jaw thrust techniques.

Head Tilt and Chin Lift
The airway opens only when the head is correctly positioned in the neutral position.

Proper Airway Opening Position
Due to the proportionally larger occiput, the manikin naturally rests with the head in a flexed position, similar to a real infant.
Learners must adjust the head to the correct neutral position to open the airway. -

High-Quality Chest Compressions

Guideline Parameters: The recommended compression depth is at least one-third of the chest depth (approximately 4 cm), with a compression rate of 100–120 per minute.
